Product Description

Where rigid wine boxes are used

Cellar releases, single-vineyard and reserve bottles, anniversary and corporate gifting, distillery special editions, and retail where a bottle is sold as a gift without a bag added to it. A rigid box lets a producer charge for the presentation rather than the glass, which a carton does not.

They are also used for vertical sets and for a bottle that travels by courier inside a larger carton, where the rigid pack is what keeps the glass from meeting the outer wall.

Bottle restraint and neck support

A wine bottle weighs enough to break its own pack, so the base sits in a deep socket and the neck is held in a separate collar - two contact points that stop vertical travel and keep the bottle from tipping onto the wrap. The cavity is cut rather than folded.

Wall thickness goes up against the weight, and the closure is chosen to hold under that load, usually a magnet or a tuck flap with a reinforcement patch. A die-cut carry handle, a hinged lid that stands for pouring, or a window on the label face are specified on the same tooling, and tissue or a card bed covers the socket.

Why custom rigid wine boxes from CRIIO

CRIIO sizes the socket and collar to your bottle geometry, including punt depth and shoulder diameter, then proof-loads the closure and drop-tests the packed bottle on a physical sample before platemaking.

Bordeaux, Burgundy, sparkling and spirit formats run on one shell family with a changed tray, so a producer can present a range without paying for a die per cuvée, and quantities suit a release rather than a year.
