Product Description

Where drawer gift boxes are used

The drawer format suits gifts that are given in person: holiday and corporate sets, wedding and event favours, tea, chocolate and confectionery assortments, cosmetics and jewellery bundles, and commemorative releases. The tray slides out and stays intact, so the recipient can set the whole box on a table and open it in front of others without the contents spilling.

Because the tray is a separate piece, the same outer sleeve can be reissued with a different fill - a four-piece set at one price point and an eight-piece set at the next - which is why the format is common in seasonal gifting where the range changes but the presentation must not.

Structure of a slide-out gift box

Two rigid pieces: a sleeve cut to a close tolerance around the tray so the box feels substantial and does not slide open in transit, and a tray with a ribbon pull through the end wall. Walls are wound and wrapped from greyboard, corners mitred, and the inside of the tray fitted with EVA, sponge or a lined paper cutout so each item sits in its own seat.

Decoration is usually minimal because the mechanism carries the drama - soft-touch or matte lamination with a foil or debossed logo on the sleeve, and a contrasting colour on the tray edge so the drawer reads as meant-to-be-pulled.

Why custom drawer gift boxes from CRIIO

CRIIO sets the sleeve-to-tray fit by sample, not by assumption: the slide has to be firm enough that the drawer does not fall open and loose enough that a ribbon pull works with one hand. Send the product layout and we cut the tray to it, then return a physical sample, a size sheet and a quotation against your quantity.

Sleeve size, tray depth, pull colour and finish are specified separately, so one tooling carries a gift range and a reorder keeps the exact slide feel of the approved sample.
